02 · Rebuilt
Built on the best multi-spindle automatics ever designed
An Axis machine is a rebuilt machine, and it is already rebuilt when you buy it. Nobody draws these machines any more, and nobody will again.
The Gildemeister® and Schütte® multi-spindles of that generation were designed when rigidity was cheaper than electronics. The frames were poured heavy because iron is the answer to vibration. No current cost model would authorise that much metal, and no current machine carries it.
A casting that has been cutting for thirty years has finished moving. The internal stresses released decades ago. That frame is more dimensionally stable today than the day it left the foundry.
So the structure stays. Frame, spindle carrier, drum shafts — built better than anyone builds now, and improved by time rather than degraded by it.
Everything that wears is restored to the tolerance it was drawn to hold, or replaced with new. Scope is defined machine by machine and stated in the quotation.
03 · Performance

These are mechanically controlled automatics. Cams, drums, a cycle committed before it begins.
Nothing is computed. There is no interpolation, no acceleration ramp, no control waiting for the next block. The motion is the machine, and it repeats without deciding anything. That is why, on families of parts in volume, this cycle has never been beaten. It has been approached.
We deliver that performance for a fraction of the capital, and we deliver it without stopping your production for a single shift.
These lathes were replaced in the catalogues. They were never replaced on the floor.
Thirty years of evidence, and thousands of them running
Reliability on a machine tool is not a specification. It is a record. These automatics have been cutting continuously for three decades and they are being rebuilt because they earned it. Nothing built since has a record that long, because nothing built since is that old.
There are thousands of them in American shops right now. The operators know them. The setters know them. The parts are on our shelf. And Axis machines are already running in the United States.
04 · The cell
And the rest of the line, if you want it
A lathe is one machine in a line. Between the bundle on the floor and the finished part there is a bar loader, a bar feeder, the lathe, and a centering unit at every spindle. DHG defines all of them.
Most shops buy the lathe from one supplier and the bar handling from another, and spend the first month making them agree. Ordered together they arrive already agreeing — same drawings, same interfaces, one company answering the phone.
